4 signs you’re ready for a side hustle

1. You can’t stop thinking about it.

You’ve been talking about it for-e-ver. You’ve planned it out every which way, and yet… If you’ve been thinking about it consistently for at least 6-8 months, then that’s a good sign you should stop dreaming and start doing.

2. You’ve got it all planned out.

Whether it’s handwritten in a notebook or set into an extensive spreadsheet, you’ve decided on a business name, identified your product(s) or service(s), mapped out your website, looked into any necessary financing, maybe even scouted out a brick-and-mortar location. And all roads point to YES, YOU CAN DO THIS.

3. You’re organized and methodical (or can be when it counts).

Launching a side hustle isn’t easy. It will take hard work and dedication to pull it off. And you’ll need to have the willpower, organization, and structure to stay on track. You need to be willing to rise early and go to bed late, to skip Friday night beer and wings with your buddies, or to forego weekend fun to get this thing rolling. If you know you can look temptation square in the face and stay the course, you’ll be in a better position for success.

4. You really really want it.

You have no doubts about it. You want to do this thing, baaad. But fear is holding you back. What if I fail? What if I don’t get any customers? My spouse/sister/dad doesn’t think it will work. It’s not the right time. STOP THAT SHIT. You’ve thought it through. You’ve planned it out. You’ve laid out your process. Just do it already! You’ve got this.

No regrets.

So there you have it. I’ve seen too many people let their fear paralyze them. Seriously – what’s the worst that could happen? You fail? You lose a bit of money? Big deal. It’s way better to know you tried instead of wondering, years from now, “what if.”

Are you energized to start your side hustle now? Let me know in the comments! Good luck!
